Lakers linked to recently waived free agent Cam Whitmore

The Los Angeles Lakers are evaluating potential roster additions following a summer of significant organizational and personnel changes. After failing to acquire Jonathan Kuminga, the team has emerged as a potential landing spot for Cam Whitmore, who was recently waived by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Whitmore, a 2023 first-round draft pick, spent time with the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards before his release. Analysts suggest his floor-spacing ability and athleticism could complement an offensive rotation featuring Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. The Lakers are currently looking to fill remaining gaps on their roster as the regular season approaches. Whether the team pursues the former first-rounder remains to be seen as he searches for a new opportunity to secure a spot in an NBA rotation.
