Lakers make trade pitch to Jonathan Kuminga amid Atlanta Hawks holdout

Summary

The Los Angeles Lakers are pursuing Jonathan Kuminga, viewing him as a key addition to their roster. Kuminga, currently in a holdout with the Atlanta Hawks due to unresolved contract demands, has drawn interest for a potential sign-and-trade. Reports indicate that the Lakers are offering him a one-year minimum contract paired with a lucrative deal in 2027 after he plays alongside Luka Doncic. NBA insider Jake Fischer suggests that Kuminga favors the Lakers over the Minnesota Timberwolves, citing better negotiating opportunities with Los Angeles.
