The Los Angeles Lakers have ramped up their pursuit of Jonathan Kuminga, a former Warriors player, as the Atlanta Hawks make roster adjustments. Reports indicate the Lakers have proposed a contract via sign-and-trade worth approximately $45 million. Other interested teams, including the Kings and Timberwolves, have dropped out due to Kuminga's desire to avoid a veteran minimum deal. With the Hawks recently assigning Kuminga’s jersey number to Lou Dort, it appears unlikely they will retain him. This development positions the Lakers favorably in their negotiations, potentially prompting Kuminga to reconsider his contract demands as training camp approaches.
