Lanee Hams leads East Grand Forks volleyball to 3-0 start

East Grand Forks volleyball player Lanee Hams has emerged as a key contributor for the Green Wave following her transition from soccer. A junior hitter, Hams leads the team with 27 kills through the first three games of the season. She recently recorded 12 kills during a three-set victory over Hawley, a match that marked the first time the defending state champions have been swept since September 2023. The team also opened their schedule by defeating Wadena-Deer Creek in four sets, avenging a loss in the previous season's Section 8AA tournament semifinals. Hams, who began playing the sport as a freshman, earned all-Polar North Conference honors during her sophomore campaign with 285 kills. East Grand Forks aims to build on this early momentum as they continue their season schedule.
