Late home runs hand Tigers 3-2 loss to Royals at Comerica Park

After Mize limited the Royals to one run on three hits, the Tigers led 2-1 until Perez's seventh-inning homer tied the game. Loftin’s solo shot in the ninth punctuated Detroit's defeat, ending their three-game winning streak and dropping their record to 50-55. The Tigers managed to threaten in the ninth but could not convert, with Matt Vierling striking out to end the game. The teams will meet again on July 26 as Framber Valdez is set to start for Detroit against Kansas City's Luinder Avila.
