Mark Garner delivered a walk-off single to lead Leominster past Beverly 4-3 in the American Legion state tournament at Fino Field in Milford on July 25. Leominster, which scored the winning run after rallying from a tie, advances to face Hyde Park at 4 p.m. on July 26. A.J. Wozniak contributed two RBIs, and pitcher Danny Nelson had a strong performance, allowing one earned run over 8⅔ innings. Franklin defeated Milford 2-1 in another matchup that day, with Colin Mont striking out seven over seven innings.
