LeTourneau University opens new Air Dome for track and field

LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, celebrated the opening of its new 120,000-square-foot Athletic & Human Performance Air Dome on August 19, 2026. This facility features an 8-story inflatable dome that houses a 200-meter banked track and seating for 1,500 spectators. The university aims to host national and regional track and field meets, enhancing its athletic offerings. Tim Seegal, vice president of the athletic department, believes the new venue will also benefit the local economy by increasing hotel stays and restaurant business. The facility will not only serve LeTourneau's programs but is set to be accessible to the local community for running and other activities. Its first scheduled track event will take place in December.
