Liverpool unveils memorials for former manager Matt Beard

Liverpool have installed permanent tributes to former women's team manager Matt Beard at the Melwood training ground and outside Anfield Stadium. A private ceremony at the Melwood site marked the unveiling of a memorial garden, while a commemorative tree was planted on 97 Avenue near the stadium. Beard, who died in September 2025 at age 47, managed the women's side from 2012 to 2015 and again from 2021 to 2025. Under his guidance, the club earned two Women's Super League titles and secured promotion back to the league in 2022. The club will also support the league's Together Against Suicide initiative during Saturday's Premier League match against Fulham. Additionally, fans are organizing a charity walk ahead of the women's team match against Tottenham this Sunday to benefit the organization Andy's Man Club.
