Lubbock venues confirmed for UIL basketball state semifinals

The UIL has announced Lubbock-area venues for the 2026-27 basketball state semifinals. Frenship's Tiger Pit will host both divisions of the Class 1A semifinals for boys and girls. The Rip Griffin Center at Lubbock Christian University is designated for the Class 2A girls semifinals. This marks the first time venues will be predetermined since the UIL split divisions in 2024, after previous seasons required semifinalists to find neutral sites. Athletic director Bryan Gerlich highlighted the advantageous central location of Frenship ISD for both regions.
