Lugnuts shut out Chiefs 5-0 to claim series victory

The Lansing Lugnuts secured a 5-0 victory over the Peoria Chiefs in Lansing on Sunday. Starting pitcher Tucker Novotny led the way, throwing five shutout innings and allowing just two hits. The Lugnuts took control early with a two-run double by Rodney Green Jr. in the second inning, followed by a solo home run from Gunnar Gouldsmith in the fourth. Additional runs from an RBI double by Bryan Arendt and another RBI single from Green Jr. in the seventh sealed the win. The Lugnuts wrapped up the series, winning five of the six games against the Chiefs and now hold a record of 53-64. They will begin a new series against the Great Lakes Loons on Tuesday evening.
