Luverne defensive tackle OBrendan Jones draws attention for strong play

Luverne High School football in Alabama has opened the 2026 season with a 2-0 record. The Tigers have allowed only 28 points in two victories against Pike County and Brantley while scoring 96 total points on offense. Senior defensive tackle OBrendan “Big Baby” Jones has contributed four tackles through the opening two contests. The 380-pound lineman, who recorded 35 tackles during his junior season, recently received a college scholarship offer from Kansas Wesleyan. Luverne is scheduled to play its next game on the road against Chickasaw on Friday, September 4, 2026.
