Madeira quarterback Cooper Blackburn offers prayer to injured opponent Pedro Guimaraes

Following a September 4 football game between Madeira and Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, Madeira quarterback Cooper Blackburn approached injured CHCA running back Pedro Guimaraes to offer a prayer. CHCA secured a 24-12 victory in the contest. Blackburn, who recovered from a severe foot injury sustained against the same opponent one year prior, expressed empathy for the recovery process Guimaraes now faces. The Madeira quarterback spent months in rehabilitation and physical therapy after requiring major surgery. His return to the field included leading the Mustangs to a 2-1 start this season. Guimaraes is currently sidelined with a knee injury sustained during a previous game against Versailles.
