Malik Washington joins Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year watch list

Maryland quarterback Malik Washington earned a spot on the 2026 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year watch list. The award recognizes student-athletes for their character and commitment to community service, highlighted in this instance by Washington’s recent youth football camp at Under Armour Stadium. Semifinalists for the award are scheduled for announcement on October 13. In other university athletics developments, four-star basketball recruit Payton Jones is set to announce his college choice on September 11. The Terps men's basketball program also recognized Baba Oladotun and Tambedou as co-MVPs of their fifth boot camp session. Additionally, the baseball program secured a commitment from catcher Angelo Ciminiello, while former Maryland player Anthony Cowan Jr. led all scorers with 19 points in a win for Cedevita Olimpija in Slovenia.
