Manchester Road Race increases prize money for 90th annual Thanksgiving event

The Manchester Road Race Committee will increase the prize money for the top finishers at this year's 90th annual Thanksgiving Day race in downtown Manchester. First-place male and female runners will now receive $10,000, while second-place finishers will earn $5,000. These awards represent an increase from the previous $7,000 and $4,000 prizes. The event, which follows a 4.737-mile course starting in front of St. James Church, is limited to 14,000 participants. Registration opened on Sept. 1 and remains available, with tiered entry fees based on the sign-up date. All proceeds from the race will be donated to Rebuilding Together of Manchester and Habitat for Humanity of North Central Connecticut.
