Manchester United have rejected the opportunity to sign Liam Delap from Chelsea. Chelsea is looking to offload Delap after a disappointing debut season, where he scored just twice in 41 appearances. The forward had arrived at Stamford Bridge for £30 million last summer but is now deemed surplus to requirements. Former suitors Everton are reportedly leading the race for Delap, with Nottingham Forest and Leeds United also potential destinations. Chelsea is reportedly closing in on Brighton forward Danny Welbeck.
