Manchester United plans significant defensive overhaul for next summer

Manchester United is preparing for a major defensive overhaul aimed at next summer as they address early-season vulnerabilities. The club's management recognizes that the defense should have been prioritized earlier and is now laying groundwork for substantial changes, particularly at left-back and center-back. Lisandro Martinez's future is uncertain amidst ongoing interest from Spanish clubs, while Harry Maguire's contract may be triggered due to his leadership role. Luke Shaw's position is under review as United consider extending his contract on reduced terms. Players like Lewis Hall and Adrien Truffert are identified as targets for strengthening the defense.
