Mariners unveil Legacy Plaza statue at T-Mobile Park

The Seattle Mariners opened a new Legacy Plaza at T-Mobile Park on September 4, 2026, featuring a commemorative statue honoring the 2001 team. The installation depicts Mike Cameron and Mark McLemore, two prominent members of the club that recorded 116 wins during the 2001 season. The plaza design incorporates 116 bats representing those victories and displays the American flag carried by players after they clinched the American League West division title shortly after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Proceeds from 2,000 commemorative medallions sold at the park will benefit the Mariners Legacy Fields Projects, which restores youth baseball diamonds across the state. The organization continues to expand its memorial collection, following an Ichiro statue earlier this year and with plans to add a Randy Johnson installation next season.
