Maryland athletics hosts fall media day for university sports teams

University of Maryland officials held a fall media day at Tyser Tower to discuss the upcoming athletic season. Coaches and student-athletes from the football, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, cross country, and wrestling teams addressed reporters. Head football coach Mike Locksley outlined goals for the team’s upcoming game, emphasizing execution and discipline, while quarterback Malik Washington noted a focus on finishing games. Elsewhere, the men’s soccer program climbed to the No. 2 national ranking following a victory over High Point. Big Ten weekly honors were awarded to soccer players Rodrigo Neri and Laurin Mack for their performances. Meanwhile, the volleyball team recently lost to Vanderbilt in straight sets.
