Maryland defeats UConn behind Malik Washington passing performance

Maryland secured a 38-14 road victory over UConn on Saturday, overcoming an early deficit with a dominant offensive performance. Quarterback Malik Washington led the team by completing 18 consecutive passes, a program record, while throwing for 347 yards and two touchdowns. Maryland trailed early after a 36-yard touchdown pass from UConn quarterback Kalieb Osborne but responded with scores from Na’eem Abdul-Rahim Gladding and Harry Dalton III. Despite the loss of running back Iverson Howard to injury after his one-yard touchdown run, the Terps maintained control throughout the second half. The Maryland defense limited the Huskies to 30 total yards in the second quarter and held Osborne to 58 passing yards outside of his early touchdown throw.
