Mater Dei and Northeast Dubois reach IHSAA baseball state championship

Mater Dei and Northeast Dubois have advanced to the IHSAA baseball state championship at Victory Field. In the Class 4A semi-state, No. 3 North fell to No. 10 Bloomington South 1-0, with a lone throwing error providing the game's only run. North left 11 runners on base, failing to capitalize on several scoring opportunities throughout the game. Bloomington South's pitcher Xavier Hemingway allowed only three hits and struck out seven in 6 1/3 innings. The Panthers will face Lake Central in the state final, marking their program's first trip to this championship after previous school splits.
