Maxim De Cuyper shines for Brighton with three goals this season

Summary

Maxim De Cuyper has started the season strongly with Brighton, recording three goals and three assists in seven matches. The 25-year-old full-back is matching his assist tally from last season and has added an extra goal. His performance may lead to a more prominent role with the Belgian national team under new coach Mark van Bommel, who is expected to name his squad soon. De Cuyper's rise comes as Belgium transitions to a new generation of players, following the retirements of Axel Witsel and Matz Sels this week.
