Melbourne and North Melbourne remain undefeated after AFLW round five

Melbourne maintained its perfect start to the 2026 AFLW season with a 51-point victory over Port Adelaide at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons led throughout the contest, securing a 11.8 (74) to 2.11 (23) result. Elsewhere, Geelong earned its first win over Adelaide with an 11-point victory at Unley Oval, while West Coast claimed its first win of the season by overcoming Brisbane 6.10 (46) to 6.5 (41). Gold Coast improved its record to 3-2 after a 30-point win against Collingwood at People First Stadium. Hawthorn also moved to 3-2 by recording an 11-point victory over the Western Bulldogs at its new home ground in Dingley. The win for Hawthorn was tempered by a knee injury to midfielder Emily Bates, while Brisbane dropped to a 2-3 win-loss record following its loss to the Eagles.
