Mendon and Colon look to move to 2-0 on Thursday

High school football teams across the region prepare for Week 2 action this Thursday as teams look to improve their early-season standings. Mendon enters its home matchup against Morenci coming off a 311-yard rushing performance in Week 1, while Colon hosts Adrian Lenawee Christian following a 44-0 victory over Burr Oak. Other scheduled matchups include Sturgis at Battle Creek Pennfield, Three Rivers at Dowagiac, and Centreville at Decatur. Coaches for both Mendon and Colon emphasized the need for consistent line play and defensive discipline as their respective programs integrate new personnel. Many teams across the league are seeking their first victory of the season after falling in their opening games last week. All games are currently scheduled for kickoff at 7 p.m.
