Mets promote right-handed pitcher Gary Gill Hill to Triple-A Syracuse

The New York Mets announced on Sunday the promotion of right-handed pitching prospect Gary Gill Hill from Double-A Binghamton to Triple-A Syracuse. The 21-year-old pitcher arrived in the organization during this year's trade deadline as part of the deal that sent Freddy Peralta to the Tampa Bay Rays. Across five appearances with the Rumble Ponies, Gill Hill recorded a 2-0 record with a 3.76 ERA and 28 strikeouts over 26.1 innings. His move to Triple-A follows the club's decision to recall Jonah Tong to the major league roster, which opened a spot in the Syracuse starting rotation. Gill Hill, currently ranked as the team’s No. 19 overall prospect, is expected to make his debut for Syracuse shortly after his final appearance in Binghamton on September 1.
