Miami Dolphins acquire quarterback Kyle McCord from the Green Bay Packers

The Miami Dolphins acquired quarterback Kyle McCord from the Green Bay Packers on August 30, 2026. In exchange for the signal-caller, the Dolphins sent a 2028 sixth-round draft pick to Green Bay. McCord joins Miami to serve as the primary backup to starter Malik Willis. This move follows a series of roster adjustments by the Dolphins, including the trade of Quinn Ewers to the Jacksonville Jaguars and the waiving of Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski. McCord, a former Syracuse and Ohio State player, previously spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad before joining the Packers on a reserve/futures contract this past January.
