Michigan plans to expand defensive end rotation against Oklahoma

Michigan defensive ends coach Lewis Powell plans to utilize a wider rotation of players for the team's upcoming matchup against Oklahoma. After Western Michigan maintained possession for over 40 minutes in the season opener, the coaching staff intends to increase the rotation from four players to five or six. Dom Nichols logged a team-high 55 snaps in the first game, followed by John Henry Daley with 43, Cam Brandt with 32, and Nate Marshall with eight. Powell attributed the limited rotation to nagging injuries but expressed optimism regarding the return of freshman Carter Meadows. Benny Patterson III, Tariq Boney, and Meadows are expected to see more playing time as the team prepares to face an Oklahoma offensive line described as one of the best in the country. The defensive staff aims to keep the front line fresh to improve performance compared to the previous week.
