Mike Conley joins Boston Celtics for one-year contract

Mike Conley has signed a one-year, $3.9 million contract with the Boston Celtics. The veteran guard joined the organization after playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies. According to Jon Krawczynski, Conley was primarily motivated by the opportunity to play for a historic flagship franchise and to compete in the Eastern Conference for the first time in his career. The 39-year-old also expressed significant respect for Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla and his approach to the game. Conley brings career averages of 13.6 points and 5.5 assists to the roster. The team expects him to provide veteran leadership while serving in a backup role during his tenure in Boston.
