Mike Hall Jr. expands defensive role for the Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Mike Hall Jr. has returned to the practice field and is incorporating defensive end into his duties. Hall spent 10 days away from the team following a training camp hit from running back Quinshon Judkins during a non-padded session on August 1. While previously working exclusively as a tackle, Hall began lining up at end during the preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. Assistant general manager Catherine Hickman indicated that the shift adds tactical flexibility to the defensive line following injuries. Head coach Todd Monken characterized Hall as a disruptive player but noted that managing his aggressive style remains a priority for the coaching staff. The team continues to navigate depth concerns at the end position as they prepare for their upcoming game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
