Milan loses friendly to Chelsea as Amorim evaluates players for sale

Summary

AC Milan suffered a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in a friendly match on August 8, 2026, in Jakarta. This loss has influenced Coach Ruben Amorim's decision-making regarding player sales, with several names now on the market. Pervis Estupinan, Fikayo Tomori, Youssouf Fofana, Samuele Ricci, Zachary Athekame, and Santiago Gimenez are among those identified as possible departures. While Estupinan struggled during the match, Gimenez is currently injured. Milan’s transfer strategy may hinge on whether they receive suitable offers for these players, especially Rafael Leao, who might be sold for over €50 million. The team aims to focus on potential replacements once negotiations progress.
