Milby senior Artavion Davis pursues playoff berth after standout receiving season

Milby senior receiver Artavion Davis enters his final high school season following a campaign where he recorded 94 catches for 1,602 yards and 22 touchdowns. Despite playing through a fractured thumb for most of last year, Davis led his team in receiving metrics and helped the Buffaloes secure a 1-0 record to start this season. Coach Matthew Puente noted that Davis adapted his playstyle during the injury, avoiding contact on his left hand while maintaining his role as the focal point of the offense. Milby now looks to improve on a 3-7 finish from a year ago and secure a postseason spot. Davis requires 94 receiving yards to reach 2,000 for his career. The Buffaloes face Spring Woods at 7 p.m. this Friday at Tully Stadium.
