Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck confirmed that freshman running back Ryan Estrada will miss the remainder of the 2026 season due to a knee injury. The injury occurred during the fourth quarter of Minnesota's 59-7 win over Eastern Illinois last Thursday. Estrada caught an 11-yard pass and sustained the injury while being tackled on the turf. Before the injury, the freshman had recorded three carries for 10 yards and two receptions for 12 yards, establishing himself as the third running back in the team's rotation. He was also expected to contribute as a primary kick returner. The staff had previously identified him as a contributor capable of bolstering the team's rushing attack this season.
