Minnesota Twins promote outfielder Emmanuel Rodriguez to active roster

The Minnesota Twins promoted outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez from the St. Paul Saints on September 12. The 23-year-old joins the major league roster as the club evaluates younger players during the final stretch of the season. His arrival follows the promotion of prospects Walker Jenkins and Kaelen Culpepper over the past month. The roster move comes as the team placed Byron Buxton on the injured list for upcoming hip surgery. To accommodate Rodriguez, the Twins optioned infielder Ben Ross to the St. Paul Saints.
