Missouri cross country teams finish second at the Cyclone Opener

The Missouri cross country program opened its season Friday at the Cyclone Opener in Ames, Iowa, with both the men’s and women’s squads placing second in their respective fields. Elijah Limo led the men’s team by winning the 6K race with a time of 18:05.2, followed closely by teammate Raymond Kipkoech in second place. The Tigers placed all seven of their men’s runners inside the top 40 competitors. In the women’s 5K, Monica Wanjiku finished second overall, contributing to a team score of 34 points that secured a second-place finish out of six competing teams. Kobi Walker and Suzy Lecoutre also contributed top-five finishes for the women’s squad. Missouri is scheduled to return to competition on September 18 at the Billiken XC Invite in St. Louis.
