Missouri Southern sweeps Southwestern Oklahoma State at the Gorilla Classic

Missouri Southern Lions defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State in the opening match of the Gorilla Classic on Wednesday in Pittsburg, Kansas. The victory serves as a rebound for the Lions, who entered the contest with a 1-3 season record. Southwestern Oklahoma State struggled offensively, failing to record more than 15 points in any of the sets. Addysen Alvis and Kaelyn Kendrick paced the Lions' offense, each recording nine kills during the win. Missouri Southern maintained high efficiency throughout the night, hitting over 35 percent in more than half of the sets played. The team remains in Pittsburg to continue the invitational with matches against Arkansas Tech and William Jewell scheduled for Thursday.
