Missouri Southern Lions defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State in the opening match of the Gorilla Classic on Wednesday in Pittsburg, Kansas. The victory serves as a rebound for the Lions, who entered the contest with a 1-3 season record. Southwestern Oklahoma State struggled offensively, failing to record more than 15 points in any of the sets. Addysen Alvis and Kaelyn Kendrick paced the Lions' offense, each recording nine kills during the win.
