Missouri State linebacker Heiko Malone misses remainder of season with injury

Missouri State head coach Casey Woods confirmed Monday that linebacker Heiko Malone will miss the remainder of the 2026 season due to an injury sustained during the opening drive against Texas A&M on Sept. 5. The Bears, who opened their schedule with a 50-0 loss to the Aggies, also saw defensive linemen Tim Brantley Jr. and Gilles Tchio leave the game with injuries. Additionally, cornerback Joel Kpassou and linebacker Jared Lloyd exited the lineup intermittently during the matchup. Woods indicated that while Malone’s injury is season-ending, he expects the rest of the injured players to return to the field.
