MIT football defeats Nichols 35-7 in Tanner Kingsley's debut

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology football team opened its season with a 35-7 win over Nichols College on Friday night. Playing at Michael J. Vendetti Field in Dudley, Massachusetts, the Engineers recorded 509 yards of total offense in the first game under offensive coordinator Tanner Kingsley. MIT established an early lead with an eight-play, 75-yard scoring drive to start the contest. Nichols found the end zone in the third quarter on a 65-yard touchdown pass from Will Migliaccio to Anthony LaGuardia, but the Engineers responded quickly to maintain control. MIT finished the game with 323 rushing yards on 43 attempts while converting 26 first downs. The victory improved the team's record against Nichols to 17-10 in the series history.
