MLW Fusion to stream on Tubi starting Thursday nights
Summary

Major League Wrestling has announced a streaming deal with Tubi, with its flagship show, 'MLW Fusion,' set to air Thursday nights starting tonight at 8 p.m. EST. This follows a recent three-year hiatus for the show, which had been available for free on YouTube. MLW CEO Court Bauer emphasized the importance of accessibility for wrestling fans. The agreement comes after MLW's antitrust lawsuit against WWE, alleging pressure on Tubi to cease relations with MLW. The lawsuit ended with a $20 million settlement for WWE in December 2023.

When Court Bauer’s Major League Wrestling hit WWE with a federal anti-trust lawsuit in 2022, its case was based on media right deals with Vice TV and Fox-owned Tubi that MLW alleged it lost out on due to WWE’s “anti-competitive behavior”. That suit was settled for $20 million a couple years later, and we haven’t seen any signs of hostility between the two companies since, and no word of an official partnership like WWE has with TNA. But there have even been signs the old legal foes could be on the same side of our current and seemingly industry-wide wrestling war. Recently, those have included Baron Corbin’s run of double duty on Fusion and SmackDown, and the Tessa Blanchard flap that’s played out between Bauer’s fed and AEW-ally CMLL. And who knows if that has anything to do with MLW finally partnering up with Tubi. WWE does stream its developmental-for-developmental show Evolve on the service, but AEW’s FAST channel is on Tubi as well. Fusion also streams on AEW-ally New Japan’s NJPWWorld service, and that will continue. It’s more likely the deal Bauer told Tony Maggio of The Hollywood Reporter about today (Sept. 17) is happening because MLW’s existing deal with beIN Sports expired at the end of August. The promotion has also partnered with some Hollywood names like Paul Walter Hauser and Danny McBride since then, and has added some more well-known wrestling ones to its roster… even if they only employ some of them because no one else will. Here’s what Bauer told Maggio about the deal: “Wrestling should be easy to find and free to watch. We built MLW around that, no paywalls, no subscription barriers, nothing standing between a fan and the show, and Tubi shares that same fan-first philosophy at scale. Starting Sept. 17, Tubi’s 110 million monthly active users have a front row seat on Thursday nights to the hardest hitting hour in pro wrestling, and it won’t cost a dime.” Fusion has been streaming free on YouTube, and Wrestling Observer says that will continue. Excited for MLW’s future now that it’s on Tubi? Will you be checking it out (if you weren’t already)?
