Mollie Smith of Woodrow Wilson named Register-Herald Athlete of the Week

Mollie Smith, a junior middle blocker/outside hitter for Woodrow Wilson, has been voted The Register-Herald Athlete of the Week, receiving 40.6 percent of the votes. Smith's recognition comes after her performance that helped the Flying Eagles clinch the Silver Bracket championship at the Bridgeport Tournament. In that tournament, she recorded 30 kills, 21 digs, and three blocks across three matches. Following her strong showing, Smith contributed to a 3-1 victory over St. Albans, pushing her season totals to 142 kills and 67 digs. She surpassed Richwood’s Fawkes O’Dell, who received 35.2 percent of the votes, to secure the weekly honor.
