Mountain West finalizes nearly $250 million settlement with five departing programs

Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno State, Colorado State, and Utah State have agreed to a settlement with the Mountain West. Each school will pay nearly $50 million, totaling approximately $245 million. The agreement, signed by the Mountain West commissioner and the schools, follows their exit to the Pac-12 on July 1. As part of the settlement, the Mountain West will withhold nearly $10 million due to each school for upcoming seasons. The initial request from the Mountain West was reportedly double the final settlement amount.
