Mr Percy secured victory in the $150,000 Jonathan Sheppard Memorial Handicap on September 2 at Saratoga Race Course. Ridden by Graham Watters, the 6-year-old gelding completed the 2⅜-mile steeplechase in 4:54.93 on a turf course rated as good. Mr Percy rallied late in the stretch to finish a neck ahead of runner-up Siennois, while Sweet Will placed third. The winner carried 152 pounds, overcoming a slow early pace to take the lead just before the wire. Owned by Shannon Hill Farm and trained by Neil Morris, the Irish-bred horse has now won four of his five starts since debuting in the United States this April.
