Nathan Cleary receives second Brad Fittler Medal at NSW Blues awards

NSW Blues halfback Nathan Cleary earned the Brad Fittler Medal on Monday night at an event in Sydney. The award recognizes the standout performer for the New South Wales state team during the 2026 State of Origin series. Cleary secured the honor after helping his team achieve a 2-1 series victory over Queensland. His performance in the July decider also earned him the Wally Lewis Medal. Other award winners announced at the event included Hudson Young, who received the True Blue crown, and Yasmin Meakes, who claimed the women's Origin Player of the Series award. The state will transition to a new coaching staff for the 2027 season as preparations begin for an international Origin fixture at Eden Park.
