Newcastle United advances in bid for Manchester City midfielder Nico Gonzalez
Summary

Nico Gonzalez's future appears uncertain as Marc Guehi started ahead of him in midfield during Manchester City's 2-1 victory over Bournemouth. Reports indicate that Newcastle United is nearing a deal to sign Gonzalez from City. Despite being willing to fight for his place, Gonzalez is viewed as surplus to requirements at Manchester City after 18 months with the club. City has reportedly agreed to terms with Lille for Ayyoub Bouaddi, suggesting further changes in the squad. Negotiations continue between Newcastle and Gonzalez, with hopes to finalize an agreement soon.
