When Paige decided to go for the low hanging fruit and bring up Nikki Bella sleeping with John Cena as some sort of attack on her character, it sure felt like it was only a matter of time before Nikki went even lower and brought up Paige’s sexual history as well. Sure enough, she took to Instagram with a GIF of The New Day dancing and this caption: All week I had to try hard to get over the things @saraya said to me last Friday on SmackDown. And you know what… this morning I thought to myself IT’S A NEW DAY YES IT IS and that made me feel a lot better! 😎🙃😏🤭😘 Yikes. Paige didn’t take kindly to it, of course, and got openly vulgar on social media in response to it: When you go low @NikkiAndBrie I’ll go lower I promise you. Fuck you. — SARAYA (@Saraya) September 11, 2026 This was how they promoted their singles match on Friday Night SmackDown in Mexico City this evening. Which, hey, I don’t necessarily agree with going this route and think it’s largely ridiculous to use revenge porn in a storyline building to a TV match, but if you’re going to go for it then you’d think that would mean they would get plenty of time to flesh it out and have an all out war of a match. You probably won’t be surprised to learn that wasn’t the case. Yes, the Mexico City episodes of TV are stacked, with SmackDown alone getting four title matches. That means there is only so much time to go around. But why do all this now just to give them so little time for the actual physical part? There was a backstage promo segment on last week’s (Sept. 4) SmackDown where Paige took a deeply personal shot at Nikki Bella by throwing her failed relationships in her face, including a reference to sleeping with John Cena. On the latest episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, Nikki said she loves to include personal issues in WWE promos if it gets the fans to react and talk about it. And for whatever reason, her past relationship with Cena still elicits that desired response. Here is Bella’s take on the matter (via F4WOnline): I’m all for what entertains a crowd, what helps make a crowd react. I’ve always loved bringing something personal into it. It all got stirred up from what they were chanting [Cena’s name] in Canada. If they never chanted that, none of the stuff in the promo would’ve ever happened, right? So it’s just kind of fallen into place that way. The crowd – just being there, because we shot that live, it was amazing to hear the reactions. And even the stuff I brought before, and it is funny to see the reactions online. You know, very torn.
