Nixa defeats Joplin in high school football game at Junge Stadium

Joplin High School football fell to 1-1 on the season following a 30-27 home loss to Nixa on Friday night. The game, held at Junge Stadium, saw Nixa build an early lead after recording a safety and an Adam McKnight rushing touchdown. Joplin responded with two rushing touchdowns from Trenton McCadney across the first and second quarters to keep the contest competitive. A late scoring play by Nixa with 41 seconds remaining before halftime proved to be the deciding factor in the outcome. Despite Joplin outscoring its opponent 13-7 in the second half, the team was unable to overcome the earlier deficit. Joplin will continue its season on September 11 with an away game against Lebanon scheduled for 7 p.m.
