No. 13 Maryland field hockey defeats Temple 3-1

No. 13 Maryland moved to 2-0 on the season after a 3-1 victory over Temple on Sunday. Aida Ierubino added the team’s other goal in the second period, while Lucia Magro recorded the lone score for the Owls via a penalty stroke. Temple goalkeeper Alex Lepore registered five saves during the match, keeping the Owls within range until the final period. Maryland’s defense, led by Josie Hollamon, Erin Callahan, and Ella Fehr, successfully repelled several Temple attacks throughout the contest. The win marks the fifth consecutive season the Terrapins have opened with a 2-0 record.
