No. 7 Maryland field hockey shuts out Towson after second-half scoring surge

No. 7 Maryland field hockey moved to 5-0 on the season following a 6-0 victory over Towson on Friday. After a scoreless first half, the Terps broke through with four goals in the third quarter alone. Jordyn Hollamon paced the offense by recording a hat trick, while Kendall Gilmore added her first collegiate goal in her first career start. Goalkeeper Ryleigh Osborne earned a clean sheet in her first start, recording two saves to preserve the shutout. The Terps maintained dominant time of possession and generated numerous penalty corner opportunities throughout the contest to overcome a stubborn defensive effort from the Tigers in the opening half.
