Notre Dame rules out Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa for season opener at Lambeau Field

Notre Dame linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa will not play in the season opener against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field on Sunday night. The team officially ruled him out approximately one hour before kickoff after he did not participate in pregame warmups. Viliamu-Asa, who is recovering from a left ACL tear suffered last November, was listed as questionable leading up to the game. With the linebacker sidelined, Notre Dame is expected to increase the workload for the defensive rotation featuring Drayk Bowen, Jaiden Ausberry, and Jaylen Sneed. Sophomore Madden Faraimo is also expected to see more playing time in the defensive rotation. All other players included on the team's two-deep roster are available for the contest.
