Notre Dame dominated Rice in a 52-0 shutout at Notre Dame Stadium on September 12. The Fighting Irish offense generated 478 total yards, moving the ball through the air for 360 yards and adding 118 yards on the ground. Quarterback C.J. Carr completed 80% of his 20 pass attempts for 253 yards and four touchdowns. The defense held the Owls to 64 rushing yards and 64 passing yards while forcing four fumbles. Boubacar Traore returned one of those recovered fumbles for a touchdown on the game’s second play.
