Nottingham Forest has received approval from Rushcliffe Borough Council for a major expansion of the City Ground. The plan aims to increase the stadium's capacity from 31,000 to 52,500 in two phases, at an estimated cost of £790 million. Approval has been granted for the demolition and rebuilding of the Peter Taylor Stand and renovations to the Trent End, which together will add 14,500 seats. Outline permission for further redevelopment of the Brian Clough Stand, which will add an additional 7,500 seats, has also been secured. The club will invest over £4 million in local transport infrastructure. Demolition work will begin only after agreeing on crowd management plans for match days.
