Ole Miss baseball may benefit from eligibility ruling for 2022 class

While Ole Miss football will not see any players return under this ruling, baseball could benefit significantly. Both first baseman Will Furniss and third baseman Judd Utermark, key contributors to the Rebels' recent success, are eligible. They were instrumental in Ole Miss's return to the College World Series in 2026 and have not signed professional contracts. The NCAA plans to appeal Sweeney's ruling, and Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter stated that they are closely monitoring the situation before making any decisions.
